College Data Methodology
This page explains what our college data means, where it can come from, and how students should use it while shortlisting institutions.
Data sources
College and course information can come from official college or university pages, brochures, regulator or affiliating-body records, institution submissions, and updates gathered by the Aao College team. A source URL and last-verified date can be recorded for each college profile.
PG information is submitted by property owners or platform administrators and is published only after approval. Approval means the listing passed the platform review workflow; it is not a legal, safety, or quality certification.
How curated pages are generated
City pages are published only when a city has enough college profiles to form a useful list. Course-category pages use structured course names and category matching rules. City-and-course pages are created only when at least two colleges meet both criteria.
We do not publish every possible filter combination. This reduces repetitive pages and keeps search-indexable pages focused on meaningful student needs.
Fees, placements, rankings, and approvals
Fee ranges may exclude hostel, examination, security, or other charges unless the profile states otherwise. Placement figures are often institution-reported and can vary by program, graduating class, and calculation method.
Labels such as “Top College” are descriptive unless an external ranking name and year are provided. Affiliation or approval information should always be rechecked against the relevant official body for the admission year.
Verification and student responsibility
We use verification dates to prioritize records that need review. Even a recently checked profile can change after publication, so students should verify eligibility, fees, deadlines, refund terms, recognition, and seat availability with authoritative sources before making a decision.
